Participants can register for one, two, or all three events.  There are different registration levels for students, other not-for-profit researchers, and industry.

Event registration covers coffee and tea breaks and most lunches.  The registration does not include accomodation, transport or (most) dinners.

Cancellation deadline

Applications for Cancellation of Registration must be received by 31 December to be eligible for a 50% refund minus processing fee.

Scholarships – now closed

The Galaxy Community Fund is offering scholarships to attend GAMe 2017.  Scholarships are available to students and post-docs

  1. in historically under-represented groups,
  2. based in Low and Lower-Middle Income Economies (as defined by the World Bank), or
  3. from institutions that do not typically send students and post-docs to conferences and meetings.

Scholarships cover

  • registration for GAMe 2017 events, including any training events the applicant chooses to attend.
  • lodging costs up to A$100/night during those events
  • travel costs up to A$500

Applicants are required to

  1. Either
    • Submit a poster abstract (bit.ly/game2017abs) by 18 November. Or,
    • Include a 200-250 word response to the “How attending GAME 2017 will benefit my research and career” question in your application.
    • Poster/demo abstracts are strongly preferred. The essay option should only be used by those who are starting their research careers.
  2. Have a faculty member / PI send a letter of recommendation to community-fund@lists.galaxyproject.org no later than 18 November
  3. Submit this application form by 18 November
  4. Have sufficient funds to cover any expenses not covered by the scholarship

If you are submitting a poster, please do so before submitting an application. You also need to identify and ask a faculty member to write a letter of recommendation prior to applying.

The deadline for all parts of the application was 18 November. If you require a visa to travel to Australia, you are encouraged to get everything in earlier.
